Dad to Be Programme

The Fathers Plus 'Dads to Be' programme targets ante-natal and immediate post-natal services. It aims to engage all fathers and male carers to be and ensure that their needs are assessed.

Dads undertake a parenting skills programme developed especially for males. Where relevant they will be signposted to additional support services.

The programme ensures that information about fathers to be is captured at the earliest stage of pregnancy and that fathers are engaged by services at a time when they are excited and enthusiastic about the prospect of fatherhood but do not yet have the added stresses of a new baby.
