About Children North East Fathers Plus
Children North East is the oldest children's charity in the North East of England. Established in 1891 the organisation runs a number of community based services and projects.
The Fathers Plus Service was set up in 1997 to improve outcomes for children and young people by working with local government and voluntary services to ensure that fathers and male carers are supported in their role as care givers.
The Children North East Fathers Plus service aims to increase the engagement of men in children’s services, both as service users and as workers. The service challenges inequality in services which limits support for fathers and male carers.
